Pastor/Staff Appreciation Luncheon 9/2/09

The table setting, an abundance of thanks to our New Hope Staff and Pastors

There was a drawing at the end, from a record player, jewery, to salad and dressing. Everyone that was there received something. Some in addition to feeding their appetite took the gift of a candy bar to fead their sweet tooth later.

Darlene was suprised and impressed!

Josh picking out his gift

A good time was had by all.

Newest Licensed pastors

Kurt Kroon

Kurt was influenced by a youth minister that he had in middle school that lived his faith, Kurt wants to be that kind of example in someone else's life. Kurt is now working with the youth at New Hope and it sounds like he is enjoying this assignment. His goal is to have an emphasis on student leadership and missions, getting a core of students that can be trained and equipped to reach out to other students. In his devotions he likes to look at the bible as a whole story and how it all connects together. He likes to read "My Utmost for His Highest" as a supplemental. Currently he is reading through Genesis and is looking at the difficulty in Family, particularly with the story of Jacob and Essau.
Shanin Engman

Shanin has been very involved in ministry at New Hope, as a leader of small groups and Sunday school class. Shanin is currently involved in Family Ties, Marriage Mentors, and Marriage Prep. Shanin is very committed to her family and keeps balance in her life by having study dates with her daughter so that school commitments for both of them are done in a time of togetherness. Shanin is very intentional about her time with God each day and has really enjoyed learning more in her classes and applying this knowledge at New Hope.
Katie Boxeth

Katie’s ministry at New Hope is working with youth and currently you will find her working in Kids Town. Katie has a way of making the kids feel at ease and have a good time. Katie finds the outdoors, camping, and ultimate Frisbee as outlets to stress. Tim (Katie's husband) and Katie's like to get away and spend time together by hanging out with friends, watching movies in the park, and just driving around Portland. Katie many times will go to Starbucks where Tim works, to meet with God, currently she is reading through Luke.

Our Lead Ministry Team

Pastor Ray and Pastor Brent have been bringing some great messages and instruction on how to reach out to our community and share our faith.

Please take a few minutes to let them know how much you appreciate their sensitivity to the Holy Spirit's leading as we venture into this new phase of our church body and as we reach out to bring others into the kingdom of God.

Pastor David is dedicated not only to our music ministry, but manages the business and financial aspects of our church, which in this economy, has been a challenging task.

Let’s thank all three of these Pastors for their outstanding service by writing a heart felt message and sending them our appreciation, love and support.
